Stavia's first album, 'Forbidden Fruit' (2000) was recorded and produced with the help of Tony Kiley (drums), Andy Coughlan (bass), Tim Hamill (guitar, sound engineer) and Nigel Hopkins (keyboards). Stavia was quickly finding her own sound and began working regularly with the exceptionally talented Grant Jamieson on guitar, Rob Fergus-Smith on drums and Andy Coughlan on bass.
In 2002 she recorded 'The Way You Are' (the title is taken from a lyric in the pop-reggae 'All I Want'). Despite its tiny-scale release, the album received considerable airplay, with interviews on Johnny Walker's BBCradio 2 show, Midweek with Libby Purves (BBC4), and lots of regional air play.
